Getting around

LERICI AND TELLARO

From our hotel, Tellaro and Lerici in just a few minutes
Lerici and Tellaro, two gems set above the sea on the promontory of Montemarcello, are easy to get to by car in 10 – 15 minutes along the SP26 headed towards La Spezia.

PORTOVENERE AND THE ISLANDS

Let yourself be enchanted by the view of Portovenere from the hotel
Sublime, romantic Portovenere, perched at the opposite end of the Gulf of La Spezia, can be reached from the Golfo dei Poeti Relais in two different ways:

    • By car: drive to La Spezia and then continue on the SS530 which ends in Portovenere. Travel time is about 50 minutes.
    • On a boat from Lerici: check out the timetable on the website of the Consorzio Marittimo Turistico (travel time: 30 min.)

A taxi-boat can take you to the island of Palmaria from the little harbour at Portovenere.

THE CINQUE TERRE

The spectacular Cinque Terre and its many popular hiking trails is easy to get to from our hotel:

  • By car from La Spezia, follow the many signs to Riomaggiore/5 Terre along the coastal SP370 road.
  • By train from the main La Spezia train station. Regional trains to the Cinque Terre are frequent and a daily pass ticket can be bought at the information booth of the Parco Nazionale of the Cinque Terre located on track 1. You can park your car in the underground parking lot of the station or leave it in the outskirts of town in the spaces marked with a blue line. Timetables for the train can be consulted on the tourism consortium website of the Cinque Terre
  • The boat from Lerici, which stops in Portovenere. Timetables and information can be found on the Consorzio Marittimo Turistico website.

SARZANA AND ANCIENT LUNI

Go to lively picturesque Sarzana with its summer antiques fair and the Sconfinando Festival from our hotel for a fun evening
The elegant medieval town of Sarzana is steeped in history and just a 15 minute drive from Montemarcello. All you have to do is go down the promontory towards Bocca di Magra and Tuscany to explore this village and all of its events, the great shopping and interesting antiques market. A few kilometres further on you can admire the remains of the ancient Roman city of Luni, with its amphitheatre and archaeological museum.
